The Dish
Welcome to
Welcome to the Dish, one of Boston's true neighborhood bistros. We're proud to serve upscale comfort food at affordable prices.

The Scene
South End couples consider this one of the area's restaurants of choice for a satisfying, reasonably priced meal. This explains the nightly waits for a table, which impatient patrons avoid by dining at the tiny bar. In summertime, the quiet sidewalk patio provides one of the city's most relaxing spots for alfresco dining. Young, stylish waiters know regulars by name, and recommend selections from the lengthy, intricate wine list. (The bar serves beer and wine only.)

The Food
The Dish's stylish, varied menu mirrors those of its neighborhood brethren by including eclectic pasta dishes and offbeat seafood fare. After starting with a new-age appetizer (think Caribbean calamari with lemon-lime vinaigrette), diners move on to "big plates" like flaky, cornmeal-crusted cod with tangy lime-ginger marmalade and ricotta-mashed potatoes. Homemade desserts provide a sweet finish--dark chocolate bread pudding, when it's available, is heavenly.
